Babies post-Rapture?
I'm taking a class on millenarian movements this semester, and the last couple of class periods we've been watching the first two Left Behind movies and in the series, all children are Raptured along with the True Christians (TM), everyone else is Left Behind, yada yada yada...
which brings me to my question. Can people have babies after the Rapture? or are they Raptured immediately after conception, or do women just stop ovulating or something? Or are babies born anyway and grow up pissed at their parents for making them come down from heaven and miss out on the party? and yes, I know it's just a stupid fantasy world but I think it's an interesting question. |

Rapture: the ultimate contraceptive.
I like how you think. Seriously, though, I think these are very valid questions. I agree with Heather, you should bring this up in class. That should get things going. -Nick |

A couple of people did remark during the movie, to the effect of, "since all of the children have been Raptured, can people have babies any more now?" which is the whole reason I brought up this question. |

Anyway, IIRC, one of the main characters gets pregnant about halfway through the seven-year tribulation. Not sure what happens to the baby. Probably it will die as a result of all the natural disasters and stuff, and so the parents will naturally thank God for his mercy. There are two books left in the series, by the way. The working titles are "Left Standing" and "Glorious Appearance." I'm not kidding. Dave |

A couple of questions about the Rapture:
If God has the Rapture and the fetuses are destroyed as a result, does God have to damn himself to Hell for causing abortions? If Hell is the absence of God's presence, would His being damned there make Hell Heaven and Heaven Hell, thus granting the damned salvation and damning the saved? |
