Well, that makes perfectly good sense to me...I just had an epiphany and everything.

Sorry, just thought that was phunny...

Anywho, what I meant is that God, being God , can do anything that his intellect desires. I have (really I have) tried to fathom the "mind" of God. Obviously I havn't a clue except what is provided for us in Scripture.

I have imagined God up "there" looking down at us. He is viewing one particular person. He sits there thinking, "no, no, oh I knew you'd do that" but still he hoped in that moment that the person hadn't. Imagine how frustrating that would be?

LOL, yea I know.....

Magus55:
... It is a recurring theme throughout Genesis that God created everything already aged. Adam and Eve were full grown, as were animals and plants. So, going along with that Theme, he created an already aged universe for us to study, but sped up the light for us to see it.

Ya know Magus, using this logic, the world could have been created 5 seconds ago, and everthing aged so that it looked like it was older. That means that A&E didn't exist, genesis did not happen, no Jesus, no history existed, everthing ... poof ... just appeared seconds ago. You have memories of things that never happened.

If God has the power to get people to do his bidding, why didn't he use his methods to get someone to rescue these children?

To her and her family and friends it was a big thing. In the scheme of the world, its a daily occurance which is what i meant by little. I didn't mean by little it was no big deal and ah so what. While that was happening to that girl, a thousand children starved to death, hundreds of people were murdered and raped, 1000s of people died from cancer.
And because all of this is going on you are somehow exonerated from any display of compassion or concern?

Yes it is a sick world, and humans made it that way. But at least my belief is that that little girl went to Heaven and her pain and suffering didn't just end by her being put in the dirt. That is depressing and pessimistic at best.

Clarify "sick." Are humans responsible for earthquakes, volcanoes and other natural catosrophic events?

Why do think God's judgement in Revelation is so severe? Look at the world around you that humans made the way it is. Most people can't even contemplate the evil and sin that exists in this world. Its a massive infestation of pain and suffering and its all because of humans ( in the atheistic view and theistic view, afterall - according to atheists God doesn't exist, so the blame falls on humans. According to theists, humans sin and use their free will for evil. Either way, its humans faults.) God's final judgement on the Earth will be completely just compared to how sick and evil this world has gotten.

He'll need to attend to his own eternal agony first, then, seeing as he is the originator of all this.

Just how many of the perpetrators of sick and evil deeds do you think have acted in the name of your god?

I'm a complete pacifist. Its very sad how many bad things happen, but i don't go around blaming it on a God i don't even believe in.

Nether do atheists. Do you seriously believe that we are attempting to blame your none-existent deity for anything at all? Get a grip, Magus.

Humans have to take responsbility for what the world has become.

Right!

Which is the main reason why God doesn't stop everything.

Wrong! He doesn't stop everything because he isn't there.

Jesus Christ endured arguably the most torturous, sadistic method of execution in human history, yet alot of you don't even believe he existed (which is a historical fact it did). Now if Jesus really is God like Christians believe, he was a perfect, innocent person who endured that for YOU, yet you insult him and call him a monster.

Yawn. Yes but he isn't "really god" because he doesn't "really exist," does he Magus? You can't insult something that isn't there, can you?

And you call me sick? Thats even more disgusting.

Fallacial argument by outrage. We call you sick because you make sick comments on account of your idiotic faith.

I don't support any of that so don't even accuse me. You do not know me whatsoever, iv'e never even hit anyone in a fight let alone condoned rape and torture. But i'm not gonna listen to you blasphemy and blame your own races actions on the one person who put up with the pain just to save your ungrateful arse, when he absolutely had no reason to do it. You can deny God all you want.....

Yawn..........If I want preaching I'll go to church, pal.

.... but in the atheistic world, we are to blame. So leave God out of it.

By george I think he's got it! Welcome to our godless world, Magus!
Now all you need to do is practice what you preach.

Perhaps.

But I see no reason to mimic such behaviour.

Way back on page 3, Rhea said

Quote:
If a christian finds comfort in the existence of the afterlife as a salve against the horrors of humanity, they must not, without fatal contradiction, think Jesus' death was a terribly big deal.
in response to Magus55's assertion that

Quote:
I never said them suffering and being killed was a good thing, but to [christians] - it was only an eye blink of pain compared to eternity of happiness.
I may have overlooked it, but I didn't see a response to this. I was astonished at Magus55's assertion that suffering was only an eye blink of pain compared to an eternity of happiness, and had the same reaction as Rhea - so what's with the Christian obsession with Jesus' suffering and death of the cross? After all, it was only an eye-blink. No big deal in the overall eternal scheme of things.
