Skeptics' Annotated Koran?
There's a "Skeptics Annotated Bible," but is there a similar work dealing with the Koran?

Probably not. The authors would probably get killed real fast.

From the little I've had the patience to read, it would hardly seem necessary.
By the way, Eid Mubarak. |

The Satanic Verses
Almost immediately after the release of this book in 1989(?), a fatwah (death sentence) was issued for Rushdie by the Ayatollah Khomeini, who died shortly thereafter. Rushdie has spent more than ten years in hiding, under "official" protection of the British government. To my knowledge, the fatwah has never been revoked and Rushdie is still in hiding, though he has regularly published works and released statements supporting intellectual freedom. |
