Church/Bible History
I don't mean to be a bother, but, I will anyway. My recent topic was about speaking in tongues and I was guided to all the right directions, thank you!
Now, if I can, I would like to ask if anyone could tell me about the history of the Apostolic church and history of the bible and the original writers of the King James version 1604-1611? |

The KJV writers object to this and I suppose they translated this into their own version to serve better their own purpose. [ March 14, 2002: Message edited by: Amos ]</p> |

That's Amos's mystical version. I'm pretty sure he's looking for something more along the lines of a historical account.

In 1607 James the first commissioned a rewrite of
the standard Biblical text that was in use. It would seem that prior to this KJV, only the most learned and pious members of the faith had access to the written scriptures. James gave the charge to a collection of individuals to rewrite the scriptures And "defend the position of the King". It took 2 years and 9 months for a group of aprox. 50 people to revise the scriptures. The revision was an attempt to distance the protestant version from the Catholic version. It was designed to create a bond between the crown and religion. A state supported "faith". At the conclusion of their work the scholars presented James with the revision. James did not have the capacity or the background needed to proof the document. So he sent the revision to Francis Bacon to proof. The KVJ was actually proofed and added and subtracted to by the finest mind of the time. It has been said that Bacon inserted in the texts all manner of clandestine messages...he was the motivating force behind the Knights Templar. Most christians accept the KJV as "authentic" and representing the original words of the authors as translated into english from the orignal Greek texts. However the original greek text they refer to was not written until around the mid fourth century and was a revised version of writings compiled decades earlier in Aramaic and Hebrew. Those early writings no longer exist so the Bible christians use today is 5 linguistics removed from the first writings. No one knows what the "orignal" documents actually said and unless someone gets lucky and digs up some evidence, no one will ever know. In the dedication page the KJV is named as "authorised" and "original", but those terms do not in any way indicate the book is "genuine" or "True". the great deception. Wolf |
