Default computers and math

I am analysing the bible for mathematical patterns (please...don't ask why) and I was wondering if there were any computer programs out there that could help.

For example, say I wanted to do something (ridiculous, I know) like add the last digits in all the verse numbers of a particular book, would there be any program out there that could help me?

Thanks,

Kevin

umm... to add a series of numbers from 1 to x, use (x^2-x)/2. Just do it for each chapter and total it. To do the last digit where x is the number of versus rounded down and y is the last digit of the last verse, do x*36+(y^2-y)/2.

You could do it by hand in a few minutes.

Actually, I believe it's ½(x² + x)
