Brax's dad kicked him out because he is an atheist. Please help Brax with geometry.
On Secular Lifestyle & Support we have a brave youngster who has to go through a lot for his age. He's been kicked out of his home. All this is because he has integrity and doesn't want to pretend he believes in God. He's only fifteen and his dad thinks all atheists are evil. Here's some of the things Brax has been saying.

Sure. I study physics, and math is an important tool. I will be gone over the weekend, but still:
Brax, please ask any questions you might have! Please note, though, that I don't know what precisely your class has been learning and I don't have access to american schoolbooks either. Probably, if you choose to ask me (as opposed to others) you'll end up explaining more than I will. It helped the other kids I used to teach, though. (I taught a few kids who had problems with math, when I was 17. They said I helped them, fwiw.) So, bring on the questions! Once you know what you want to ask, you've made 3/4 of the way, in my experience. |

I PM'd Amie yesterday offering to help him with geometry in person, since I'm in the LA area. Forums are a great place to learn things, but it's sometimes hard for visual learners since it's hard to do diagrams. Geometry is especially hard in this respect. We'll see; maybe they have made arrangements already.

Great!!!!
Hey thanks!!! Right now I am going to Las Vegas, Nevada (I am excited about it but the catch is I am part of a group of 23 people and Saturday night I am stuck seeing that musical Mama mia with my grandma and other family and friends. yes abba songs well at least its only a couple hours long and the rest of the time I get to do my own thing which is cool so on Sunday I will post a bunch of questions and maybe I could get some help.
Muad: that sounds cool, I'll talk to Amie about it too. Thanks, I saw you over at CF I think, your handle just looks really familiar. yesterday when I was at christianforums I got a bunch of PM from people because they don't like my handle there. They think I am refering to Abba God and not the band so they hate my Abbasux name |

Re: Great!!!!
Hi Abbasux,
Yeah, that's me over at CF. I only have one post though--I've got a while to go before my post count there matches the one I have here! Quote:
You're always welcome to ask any questions here, too. |

Well, I think that geometry help via a web forum is most likely harder than any other mathematical problem, and having Muad'Dib near you is probably better than me in Germany , half the world away. But please, Abbasux, feel free to post any questions. Even though I really like Abba .

I would gladly help out with geometry but I get the vague feeling I've forgotten most of it. It was probably my best subject, ever, though, so I would be able to learn it back in a jiffy. Does seem like it would be hard to do over the internet though.

I can appreciate the intention of this thread, but it really is an SL&S issue.
I'm going to keep the thread here but close it and ask that anyone willing to help Braxton contact B.Shack or start a thread in SL&S. Of course, if Braxton can get online, he is welcome to post questions here for direct reponse. |
