Biblical Pi? Or, is the latest Inifdels article wrong?
The latest article from the kiosk (CLICK ME) is essentially a discussion of why notions of "equal time" are wrong. However, it cites a Biblical value of Pi as exactly 3. This interesting article from Dr Dino suggests otherwise Dino .
What do people think of that as a rebuttal? Is the maths any good? (Mines awful) And is it a sensible point? Even though I don't think the Bible is infallible, there are a lot of times when errors are made out by skeptics to be a lot more serious than they are. |

Hovind's "rebuttal" basically says that it was 30 cubits, if you measured the inside... That very well may be, but at this point it's impossible to say and there is no point in speculating about it, especially since the bible doesn't say anything to that effect.
He made the Sea of cast metal, circular in shape, measuring ten cubits from rim to rim and five cubits high. It took a line of thirty cubits to measure around it. I'll go on to say, that I also don't think it's all that convincing since the true figure would be 31.4. All it really does say is that God did not write that passage himself. There are much better contradictions. |
