DNA is not intelligent.

Blu, have you read the threads "Atheism opposed to pantheism?" and "The similarities of atheism and pantheism"? Your discussion here is directly related to them- in fact, I would say that your 'Unifying Universalism" is synonymous with pantheism. It has the same difficulties- for many here, the word 'god' absolutely requires the attribute of personality. I have been pointing out in those threads that a non-personal god is far more in tune with the reality our sciences describe, and also is consistent with the concept contained within eastern religions (and is more ancient than the Judeao-Christian-Muslim concept.)

I would agree that 'synonymous with pantheism' would represent a best case. So, using this best case: please tell me, specifically, how and where pantheism diverges from philosophical naturalism?

But is this case of being "more in tune" anything other than a case of being more benign and, in fact, more irrelevant?

Apparently, Jobar, without the proper incantations about relative and absolute truth, a rift is inevitable. Don't feel too rejected. True Blu has already acknowledged that the attribute 'Unifying' is little more than vapid window dressing, so you've lost little other than a proponent of intelligent DNA.

Lightbulb

Although, I spent a lot of time writing and thinking about what I posted I decided after reading a poem and reading the previous post that I needed to erase everything that I wrote in this forum. I apologize to Non_Praying Mantis, Jobar, Jamie, leonarde.

Thumbs down

Blu, whatever your reason, we consider erasing posts in this manner rather childish. If you think you misstated something, say so. If you lose interest, fine, don't say anything else. If you feel insulted, say that.

Just taking your words and going home is scarcely mature behaviour.

Now I wish I could have read what was written on this thread.

I am new here and I don't know the rules. Blu, will you please post what you wrote on another thread?

I am dying of curiousity.

Jobar: I don't think that taking away what was written was necessarily childish.
