God as a Mortal Being in an Extra Plane of Existence
This is just my pet theory on the nature of god, I don't actually believe it. But it is a fun idea to play with
Our entire universe is a giant 4 dimensional tangle of worms that are everything that exists to us. Time is simply the stretching of 3 dimensional objects along a 4th dimension. Our perception of time is simply the motion of our consciousness along this 4th dimension. Thus, a being whose time advances along a 5th dimension would be eternal as far as our universe is concerned, and could poke and prod at the tree of our universe for the whole of it's life. Any changes made to the tree would be imperceptible to us, as they would propagate along the entire worm that is us and generate the required memories and situations, even removing worms if necessary, but to us, whatever state the universe is in would be how it had always been. This, of course, led me to believe that god is obviously incompetent (or just malicious). Since god would be able to tweak our entire universe at will, without regard for time or space, the universe should appear perfect to us once he is finished, which is all of eternity for us. And so, as the universe is not paradise, god must be doing something wrong. I know you damn people will come up with the the argument "trust god, he has a plan," but I hate that, and I think god's plan sucks. |

You may not have noticed yet, but you posted this on Internet Infidels where very few people will hit you with the "trust god's plan" bullshit.
Interesting little theory, but what do you propose as the 5th dimension in which your IPU exists? Also, if it is free from the constraints of time as we know it, how is it to be a mortal entity? |

Did you consider that you are also prodding your finger in other worlds...lets take an animal, a perfect entity in and of itself, yet if you are trying to figure out what it is, you may need to open it up, to see the internal workings.
Did you consider that you are a co-creator with God? That while you are here you have a chance of settings things right? DD - Love Spliff |
