Specifically? I know that they are "King James Only" bible believers (hence the web address - Authorized Version 1611). If you are not a christian I don't think you'd care that much about debunking that, but if you are interested, James White is one of the main christian "debunkers" of that theory. His website is at www.aomin.org There is lots of real audio and articles about the King James Only stuff. He also has a book entitled "The King James Only Controversy" which covers a lot of that.

What specifically are you looking for? Dial the Truth ministries is basically your bread and butter fundamentalist type group. Most of their material is borrowed from other sources - or at least they parrot it. For example, they are big fans of Hovind. If you are looking for refutations of Hovind's "material", than look in II's library.

Be more specific and maybe we can help you out...

Kevin

Though from a rather whacked out site, loads of good arguments are on this page here.

Specifically, I was somewhat troubled by the Easter article, the Sept. 11 article, and the 666 Watch article.

I do understand that this is, in all likelihood, just another lame website, but you guys have to understand that I have been BRAINWASHED by this mindset for years, and have not been an atheist for 4 months yet.

I'd also like to mention how grateful I am. I think that the ones who run this site, and this board are doing an absolutely invaluable service.

There are over 30 savior-God religions in history. their births are near Christman, their moms were virgins, they were born in caves or stables and they are all older than Christianity. there is Bel of Babylonia, Osiris of Egypt, Krishna of India and Mithra of Persia. I would also mention Eshtar, sound familiar? Eshtar = Easter. There is a great little book, expecially for someone new to atheistm called "Christianity Before Christ" by John G. Jackson. It is most interesting reading and a great addition to your library. The Septmenber 11 article is just a lot fo bullshit. You can add up letters to workds to prove anything. beachbumFLA = 11. The whole 666 thing is tail chasing. Isn't revelation the only place thae mark of the beast and all the 666 nonsence appears? What is up with all the Revelations anyway? That book alone absolutely does not fit with the rest of the bable. Besides, these people, like may other basic fundy groups, do not have any place for rebuttle other than an email address. I have written to weveral, Hovind, Phelps and Lee and received a response from two. Mostly preaching. They did not acknowledge my complaint, wut why should they? It was alien to whatever insane story they were trying to sell

The Diddley Man: Last time I checked there were two separate easter articles. I haven't read them, but I am sure you will find useful the Resurrection Section (Hey - that rhymes! Like Conjunction Junction ) of II, to be very helpful. It can be found here:
Resurrection Articles

The articles by Lowder, Carrier, Price, and Till are most helpful.

The Diddley Man: The best way to overcome brainwashing is to read lots and lots of different viewpoints, and I mean lots.

That's pretty much what I'm doing, only I don't think you understand how brainwashed I was. I wasn't brainwashed like, "I believe an invisible man named Jesus lives in the sky", I was brainwashed like, I couldn't sleep because I thought that the noises outside(crickets, cars, wind etc.) were God coming to end the world. On sunny days I was terrified that God had begun to fry the earth, and on rainy days I was terrified that God was beggining to end the world with a cataclysmic storm. Were talking seriously fucked up brainwashed, to the point at which I lived in a different reality than everyone else.
