Depleted Uranium
I have found countless articles on the Net massively exaggarating the dangers of using Depleted Uranium in ammunition (DU) (just one example).
A high profile skeptic here in Norway, Professor in chemistry Martin Ystenes, has written a very good summary debunking the most extreme claims, but I have failed to find any material by skeptics in English. What is notable is that the most extreme claims, often taken at face valuie by anti-war activists and environmentalists, come from the usual conspirationalist suspects, notably from a Serb and an Iraqi, and are totally unsupported by articles in peer-reviewed journals. Even some of the most absurd claims have been repeated uncritically in mainstream media, but naturally, media associated with leftist views have been more prevalent in propagating these claims. I have found some material in English skeptical to the DU scare: WHO report on DU Article on DU by Professor Zbigniew Jaworowski US DoD report on DU (yeah I know) Pugwash report on DU (Please keep all pro/anti war comments out of this) Anyone know about more quality information? - Jan ...who rants and raves every day at Secular Blasphemy |

If you'll take a look at this recent thread Depleted Uranium Coverup, you'll see several additional good English-language references provided by me and Dr. Rick. Happy reading.

Thanks! I guessed it had been discussed earlier, so I searched for "depleted uranium" before I posted, but it drew a blank. Odd.
