Post Jerry Falwell-CNN June 12

Jerry Falwell was on Crossfire June 12. He was there to defend the S. Baptist preacher who bashed Islam at their convention.

IBISH: If you think it's not an attack on people's faith to call their prophet demon possessed, then you're an idiot, all right?
...
IBISH: I mean, if I called Jesus demon possessed...
...
FALWELL: I may be an idiot, but I'm not a pedophile.

IBISH: I'm not a pedophile, either. Congratulations.

LOL. This, like the rest of it read like a Moslem voice of relative reason going against the Christian braying of a jackass.

For the record, I feel that the remarks made by Jerry Vines about Islam are far less dubious than the following comment he made during the same speech:

"...many of this country’s problems can be blamed on religious pluralism..."

While the statements about Islam were bad enough, the above quote inplies a much wider scope of intolerance, as it takes aim at EVERY non-Xtian religion (or lack thereof) instead of just one.

You'd think they would let each other talk for more than half a sentence

Also, doesn't anybody realize that anachronistically ascribing your values on to people that lived more than a millenia ago is... how should I say it... a little kooky?

I thought this was rather funny.

BEGALA: Mr. Ibish, do any Web site you want to plug?

(CROSSTALK)

IBISH: No, I don't have a Web site I want to plug.

BEGALA: Thank you very much.

You'd have to read the rest of the transcript. Falwell shamelessly plugged his website several times prior to that exchange.

Nobody could possibly be as big a buffoon as Jerry Falwell and still be able to dress themselves.

He's really a mole working for the Great Atheist Conspiracy by acting as a caricature of a bloated, doofus, sick fundy A-hole, isn't he?
