Opera Nut,
I wasn't suggesting you had to stay in a job because godsezso, just giving a Xian viewpoint on the issue.

I hope you find something that suits you & your skills.

Treacle, I understood your line about staying in a job cuz god sez so to be "I'm staying in this job 'cuz I'm desperate, and I can't find another one quickly if I quit this one". Not necessarily the Xtian viewpoint, just the desperation viewpoint. It's fine. I wasn't taking offense.

I'm working on something at the moment that isn't up and running yet. I'll let you know when I get it off the ground & get my website up, etc.

I think my problem is that my external credentials & skills are all in boring stuff, but my REAL passion is music and art. I'm introverted in some ways and extroverted in others. My studmuffin is also introverted, he's a computer/math/physics/electronics nerd.
We both have social fears in some situations.

I've gotten involved in Chinese buddhism lately. I am sick of Western iconography and think the ancient civilizations of the East have much to teach us from their art and worldviews.
I have come to the conclusion that Western civilization has a poverty of creativity and "liveliness" for lack of a better word.

Phew, I know that was a lot more than you wanted!!
Cheers!!!

Bree, it has almost become a game for me to bring up the sad case of Lesley Ann Downey, just to see Christians conspicuously ignore it. They don't want to touch that one with a ten-foot pole, for obvious reasons.

I really wish I had more time right now ex-xian. Ironically I almost opened a thread yesterday called "The ineffectuality of prayer?NO NO NO" but I did not have the time I would have liked to devote to it.
Maybe you should pray for more time. I'm surprised you didn't think of that.
