Asking politicians the tough questions, on the record
I have sent the following inquiry to the President and Vice President of the United States, and to the US Attorney General, and to my U.S. Senators and Representative, and I will send it to all candidates for the presidency as well as all national, state and local office candidates who are vying to represent me directly--from all political parties.
I will keep you posted on the responses (or lack thereof). I intend to report as well to all newspapers of record, online news sites and the networks. We will see what happens. I urge you to ask your local, state and federal political representatives the same simple question. Let them go on the record either way, or have their unwillingness to take a stand publicly exposed. ____ Dear Mr. [President, ETC.] Do you agree with the following statement? "...I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots." - Former President George Bush Sr., then sitting Vice President of the United States and candidate for the presidency, August 27, 1987. Thank you for your honest response. Respectfully, [full name, physical address and email address] |

Very well done Galiel. Nice and to the point.
Here's mine: Dear [politician]: Other than praying, what is the Government's contingency plans in the event certain religious matters are made public which could spell disaster for the Christian religion? Yours truly, B.S. [ July 01, 2002: Message edited by: Berenger Sauniere ]</p> |
