Can God do the Hokey-Pokey?
You put your right foot in,
You put your right foot out; You put your right foot in, And you shake it all about. You do the Hokey-Pokey, And you turn yourself around. That's what it's all about! I've always loved the simplicity of this philosophy. It's so easy to find happiness if you don't think about it too hard and just try to have fun. Anyway, my religious upbringing - such as it was - was in the Mormon church, so I can say the answer to this question for a Mormon is a definite Yes, since Heavenly Father has a physical body (exalted of course, but since He has a body, he could do the Hokey-Pokey with it). Can other believers say the same thing about God as they understand Him? Can He do the Hokey-Pokey? I don't mean can He materialze a body-shaped apparition that appears to do the Hokey-Pokey, I mean can God Himself do the Hokey-Pokey, and all that the Hokey-Pokey entails (right foot in, etc.)? If He can't do the Hokey-Pokey - I mean, without a body, it'd be kinda hard, I imagine - would He wish he could? Is it even possible for Him to wish he could do the Hokey-Pokey? I'm asking because I find it unfathomable how anyone could have a "personal relationship" with anyone who couldn't do the Hokey-Pokey, or who wouldn't wish they could if they weren't able. |

I hate the hokey pokey...
does that make me the anti-god? no wonder no one worships me... actually, we hate it so much, we told the band leader for our wedding, NO hokey pokey and no chicken dance... my mom, sitting there, agreed, no hokey pokey and no chicken dance... but we want the 'you put your right foot in' song... |

Hmmm. Humor? MRD? Biblical Crit? (Maybe somewhere in the Bible it says something about God dancing.)
...Naaah. Let's leave it right here. It's cute, and may actually apply to the existence of God. Plus it has a good beat and can be danced to! |

I have learned since my relocation that the hokey pokey is done differently in England. Does this suggest a fundamental rift in theology between nations?
Isn't it sad when religious differences impair international dialogue. <heavy sigh> |
