Default Could this God

That created the earth flat set on pillars and walks on the dome of heaven be an alien from outer space?

Or maybe this character was created from an alien being,do not forget elijahs fiery chariot.

Since these people that saw this creature and the power that it posessesed they were afraid and called it a diety and out of fear gave tons of credit to him when he done many things like destroy the people. They may have called him lord but maybe he was an alien.

God did not create a flat earth, God did not create a flat earth, God did not create a flat earth, ad infinitum. Do you ever give up that argument? You don't even believe in God, so why the heck do you care?

Lightbulb An Alien God

The idea of a very-powerful alien as being the "one true God" isn't a new one. I've personally explored that idea in my essay At the Intersection of "Metaphysical Naturalism" and "Intelligent Design", which had some pretty-good reviews.

Default I know the earth is a sphere

But according to your God of your bible, the earth is flat and set on pillars unmovable.

1 Chronicles 16:30: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable.”

Psalm 93:1: “Thou hast fixed the earth immovable and firm ...”

Psalm 96:10: “He has fixed the earth firm, immovable ...”

Psalm 104:5: “Thou didst fix the earth on its foundation so that it never can be shaken.”

Isaiah 45:18: “...who made the earth and fashioned it, and himself fixed it fast...”

The earth revoles around the sun which makes these verses a lie and untruth,These verses are from your god in his book the bible.

http://www.lhup.edu/~dsimanek/febible.htm

Maybe you should explain these verses to me if they do not mean what they really mean.

No lightning yet.

Maybe you God is an alien.

I believe it was meant to imply that the earth is the fixed, unmoving center of the universe.

You believe.

You may believe what you believe,I may also believe the moon is made of green cheese.

That does not mean that any belief is the truth. If the bible is a literal text than it means what it say.If it is a allogorical text than it is a fantasy and a fable.

And that would still be wrong.

Magus,

I sympathize with your frustration, but please take care to avoid Argument From Assertion and antagonistic comments like "why the heck do you care?"

But since you asked, the people who seem the most fascinated with theology in all its forms and its myriad doctrines are atheists, in my limited experience. Surely you have interests or hobbies that other people are completely flummoxed by. I know I do. I love Shakespeare. I love reading his work and watching his plays and discussing the literary devices he used. Most people look at me as though I was a three-headed ape with acne on my ass when I tell them this. Why? Because why the heck do I care? That's why.

The simple answer, though, is: because it interests me.

Now please stick to the point.

Thank you.

Have you ever read anything by Erich von Daniken?

You should read Chariots of the Gods
if you haven't already.

Normally i try, and tend to do quite well sticking to the point. But Mark has not put forth any valid argument except, the earth is flat , so God doesn't exist ha ha! Thats it, in every post, on every forum - its getting a bit tired by now. Oh and then he continually repeats "still waiting for the lightning bolt", and iv'e told him numerous times, its not gonna happen.
