where are all the people?
I was over at "use your fist not your mouth" and I saw an interesting post. I don't know jack on the subject, but I'm interested in the answer and think maybe you people might know it.
The question is thus: What happened to all the people who were not on board Noah's Ark? If there were many millions of people populating the earth at the time of the Flood as creationists have suggested, wouldn't many of those people have been buried in Flood sediments? So why do we not find hundreds or even thousands of human fossils in the rock layers regarded as Flood sediments, with perhaps even some human fossils alongside, say, dinosaur fossils? Any thoughts? |

Here's the answers I have gotten from creationists:
People would head for the highest ground they could, since they are human and smarter than other animals. So, we will only find people in the highest layer of fossils. When you ask about the people dead and burried before the flood (I just can't see them getting up and moving to higher ground), you may get some hemming and hawing, but no answer. It gets even more interesting when you ask about modern plants (I don't see modern trees getting up and moving to higher ground), especially about pollen - which, as I understand it, can be found in fossilized samples. Why is it not found in the layers below the flowering plant? Simian Simian |

30,000 feet of water in 40 days means 750 feet of water every 24 hours. That means 31.25 feet - yes, FEET - of water every hour. That's over 6 inches of water each minute.
These "people" must have been superpeople, able to negotiate upstream travel better than migrating salmon. Why didn't they get washed down like everything else? God is a mystery indeed. |

They claim the "higher ground" thing out of one side of their mouth while claiming "the earth was relatively flat, there were no high mountains" to explain why not so much water would be needed out of the other side of their mouth.

Offa;
If you are not a descendant Of "All" the Children of Eve, or of the "Many" Angels that hopped on the daughter's of "Man" then you are not a "People". Noah "Peopled" the earth and the "Animals" on his boat were humans. You know, the "Arkansas Razorbacks" are human. When the Razorbacks crunch the Longhorns we are talking about humans. Newt Gringrich promised the "American People", a specific class of humans ... read "Animal Farm" and you'll get my drift. Stories from the bible can be compared with Aesop's Fables or the Emperor's New Clothes. If you question the story about "Noah's Flood" then you are excluded from the privy "People". |

Please don't ask how Flood deposits can account for non-sedimentary layers. |

Seems more appropriate to Evolution/Creation.
