Presidential Oath
The new Constitution Center has an exhibit where one can see themselves on tape taking the oath of office.
TAKE THE PRESIDENTIAL OATH OF OFFICE... SIT ON A SUPREME COURT BENCH... SIGN YOUR NAME TO THE CONSTITUTION.... ENTER AS A VISITOR&LEAVE AS A CITIZEN AT... THE NATIONAL CONSTITUTION CENTER http://www.constitutioncenter.org/htdig/htsearch.cgi I wonder if it includes, "so help me god" which is not in the Constitution? |

I attended the Grand opening of the new National Constitution Center with several members of American Atheists and some godless Philadelphians I know from the Atheists MeetUp . We had fun celebrating. There's another thread about the event on this board; I will post my report there, whenever I write it.
I live about half an hour away from Center City Philadelphia, I would love to go to this site, or any touristy attraction with a group of fellow freethinkers. If you're ever going to visit the NCC or other Philly or South Jersey sites, and you want some company or some such, let me know. I want to host a large group visit to the NCC. If I do so, I'll post the info here. I'm not as active on this board, so use email if you want to be sure to reach me. As usual, I can be found in the "God is a Lie!" chat room on MSN Chat's Religion section, which is an affiliate of the Atheist Network . It's where I usually post stuff. -Janice Rael jrael@atheists.org |
