the literal bible
what does the bible want to get across to readers with the multiple stories that seem to sound like pure myhtology, and borrowed myth at that?
I do not believe in the "bible". Muslims believe in the "Book" but it has been many a theist's misconception that the "book" and the "bible" are the same. We believe that that "Book" says most of things the Qur'an says but the "bible" is it's human corruption of it. What message are the stories of the creation, the fall, the flood, the tower of babel, etc...?are these to be taken literally or metaphorically? peace and blessings |

It depends upon who you're talking to. Some religious traditions treat the Bible as the literal word of God; others believe that much of it is meant to be understood metaphorically.
