I know numerous Christians who are interested in fair play, some in my church home, some on the Net, some in my family. Unfortunately, none of them are moderators on CF.

... About 15 years ago around in 1988. A thought that I have had, but now it is also 15 years and nothing has come of it. Since I am seeing 290 days exceeding here with Clear and Sunny Days every year on me. I would expect to see 290 Days of Rain in a Year and find my woman and have years being with her. Maybe then I would believe in God. Yet, each year "God" has to make it up also. Now it has to be 15 years of 290 rainy days out of a year. So the better "God" gets started the better it might be. Anyone have 20 years of patience?

I heard on that evil liberal radio station that's as bad as the KKK or the Black Panthers, NPR, that one of the reasons so many are upset by anti-war protest is that many of those who were against the Vietnam war were nasty to the veterans when they came home. The Vietnam protests were also the largest anti-war protests to date.

(Yes, someone actually said NPR = KKK. No, he offered no evidence, and in fact has been very quiet since he said it.)

Other than that...pro-war types for as long as I could remember have claimed that not supporting the war (whichever war) = treason. Some people are so far biased toward this President that if he told them gold was a tool of Satan, they'd all burn their gold jewelry, and thus to question the President is almost as bad as questioning their God.

So, standard war rhetoric + bias toward this government + bad memories = anyone anti-war should be shot. Then resurrected so we can shoot them again.

I support our troops. I think we should bring them home.

That's quite the stretch, innit? However I remain unsurprised by such a connection, given some of the pliff that passes for opinion that I've seen in the last couple of years.

I'm very proud of my country. It fills me with pride to say that I'm an Australian, even taking into account some of the evils that went into making this country what it is.

And yet, I disagree with my government's policy on this war. I see our PM leaping skyward every time George W mentions the word 'jump'. I don't think anyone would label me as un-Australian, though.

I just wonder why it's different for Americans.

What a very frustrating thread. Some people are oversensitive about things, I think.

Lasher, if you wish to remain at CF, my advice would be to just avoid entanglements with Lanakila, or anyone else that seems to get easily offended at what you say.

There does seem to be a fair few of them, doesn't there?

There's some more advice that I'm constantly having to give to myself, so you may find it helpful: chill.

What's so incredibiliy infuriating about that is that while we have to stifle reasonable arguments like that one if they are offensive, most of those guys don't think twice about stating something incredibly offensive based on their so-called doctrines. Atheists worship Satan. …oh, no don't take it personal, that's what God says.

Yes, it is frustrating, but to be fair it is a Christian forum, and one of the better ones by far. By the same token, theists get called (sometimes quite violently) for some of their remarks on this atheist forum.

Nonetheless, things have been better in the past at CF. Fingers crossed that it's a phase and not a trend.
