Default Kim Blaker to be in Twin Cities; Has anyone read her book?

Kim Blaker, editor of the book "The Fundamentals of Extremism, The Christian Right in America" (a Secular Web featured book in May) will be in the Twin Cities this weekend, including a presentation at the Roseville library (County Rd B and Hamline) which is open to the public, on Sunday, August 10th, from 2:15-3:30 PM.

I'm hoping to finish her book by then. Has anyone else read? Any reactions? So far she has reinforced the notion (that many of us this board seem to have) that the Christian Right is insidiously incorporating itself into our government and society.

Thanks for thorough summary. Many of your points have occurred to me from what I've read so far. You have stated them much more eloquently than I could. I'm looking forward Blaker's presentation Sunday.

Just figured i'd add this, I met her out in Alabama over july 4th and talked to her quite a bit. She gives a very good presentation and is very on the ball on CSS issues.
She's also a very nice person overall, she's definitely a good person to meet, and see speak.
I, of course, had read her book before i realized i'd meet her. Ask her the story about how she got dawkin's blurb... it's quite interesting, apparently he stayed up all night reading the manuscript and had a blurb for her less than 24 hrs later, and comments on sections.
have fun.
