Catholics Admit Persecution of AIDS Victims
The Catholic Church's official programme for international development has issued an extraordinary apology on behalf of Catholics worldwide, saying they have colluded in the persecution of HIV and Aids victims in the developing world.
Caritas Internationalis, an umbrella organisation representing around 150 Catholic relief agencies worldwide, has put itself at odds with senior figures in the Catholic hierarchy by issuing a statement of "regret". Drawn up in advance of World Aids Day, a week today, the statement says church members including bishops and priests silently condoned discrimination against people struggling with the virus. The rest of the article There's an interesting bit about condoms at the end. |

I'll say one thing, the Catholic Church is not shy about admitting mistakes, albeit usually quite a bit after the fact. Okay, two things. They're often not opposed to doctrinal changes when it becomes clear their doctrines are wrong-headed.

Oh whoopty-doo, the catholics have apologized for persecuting AIDS victims. But they never stop committing atrocity after atrocity, now do they?
"Oops, sorry about that whole Galileo thing..." "The inquisition? Did we do that? Oopsies!" "Pedophiles?! I don't know what you're talking ab--ooohhh! You mean our priests are pedophiles? Well, ummm...sorry, I guess." *sniffing burned witch flesh* "Oopsies, did we do that? Sorry." Somehow, I feel extremely unforgiving when it comes to the catholic church and their "apologies" for things that no human being should have ever done in the first place! Sincerely, Goliath |
