Default Friends

Okay, so my wife and I are "Friends" (NBC sitcom) buffs , and on the episode last night, one of the characters, a paleontologist, gave a keynote speech at a paleontology convention. Two questions: did anyone else watch this episode? And did anyone else find themselves having as much trouble as I did listening to the fragments of the speech (particularly the fragment where it' implied that imperfections in carbon-dating had led to false conclusions about the Jurassic Era)? My wife just shushed me, but I had to go somewhere with this

That's okay. NBC has a thing for being stupid, such as in Law and Order, when terrorists got into the US from Canada at the border between Ontario and Vermont.

They also made a BS argument on another episode on civil rights claiming Canada didn't even have a Bill of Rights, neglecting to mention the Constitution Act of 1982 (I believe its 1982). NBC, we've got Must See TV, but ignore the facts.

I saw it and laughed, but not at the 'homo erectus' joke. Standard Hollywood scientifically illiterate fare.

Homer: They make you pee in a cup and pour it on you. I saw it in a movie.

I noticed how they identified Giganotosaurus as a herbivore.

Ick. I find myself unable to watch any of the Star Treks without hissing at the screen. The biology is abominable and the physics is a joke; the science is so damn bad it ruins the show for me.
