Angry Boston Archdiocese Officials will not be indicted.

http://www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/07/21/ch....ap/index.html

Quote:
BOSTON, Massachusetts (AP) -- Top officials in Boston's Roman Catholic Archdiocese will not face criminal charges for keeping abusive priests in church parishes, a spokesman for the attorney general said -- a major blow for alleged victims who hoped church leaders would be held accountable.
[...]
[Massachusetts Atty. General]Reilly said in April that it would be difficult to indict church supervisors for allowing abusive priests to remain in parish work because of weak child protection laws in Massachusetts when the abuse took place. Reilly came to the same conclusion after the grand jury investigation, according to the report.
Grrr.

I don't understand this at all. "Weak child protection laws" Isn't that like advertising to all the potential child molester's out there? Or does this somehow only apply to the church?

They did the same thing to the priest in Phoenix. Then he went out drunk driving, and killed a pedestrain, so he got busted on that at least.

Good thing they are setting such a good example.
