Focus on the Family is all up in arms about the West Wing comment by President Sheen that God is a feckless thug (well.....read the OT!)

Wow, that particular episode cited aired a very long time ago (in TV time, that is). The article seems shocked that the character is portrayed as a devout Catholic and yet could say such a thing. As if anyone except the most blind and shallow persons don't have internal conflicts!

I see this article as purely poor journalism: reporting a baseless hubbub without researching the material. The episode in question had intense depth in revealing the character's personal relationship with his god. I'm not surprised the episode won the award from the Religion Communicators Council.

As to what one religion might call another's gods -- well, I'd like to see those deities dukin' it out for real (hmmm, remind me to read Greek and Roman mythology again)! I mean wouldn't the all time naughty curse (m-f*ker) technically apply in light of the christian trinity?
