The Spiritual Search
Somewhere in the US....
a Quest has begun. It is not a Quest for gold, jewels, or the Holy Grail...though if Castle Anthrax is on the way, they will certainly stop there. It is not a Quest for some New Age cosmic Oneness With The Great Spirit, a Weekend Warrior Drumming retreat, or a Radical Faerie meeting...though if Smilin really does wear those pearls and has a very good fashion sense, he might kind of fit in. It is not even a Quest to make a really bad movie, like Roadside Prophets or Angels' Wild Women or Killer Cave Babes: One Million AC/DC, all of which I am not making up. No, it is a Quest for the primal need in most men...or at least desperate teenaged boys. It is a Quest of non-epic proportions, a Quest which means satisfaction, a Quest of broad boundaries. Yes, it is a Quest for the Mythical Naked Human Female Breast. So far, they have found only the Ubiquitous Spicy Chicken Breast, but our heroes keep searching, knowing that if they continue and persevere, they eventually will make the news, because despite the Iraqi war, even now sometimes there is a slow news day. Easter for Me
My family and I always celebrated Christmas, though in as secular a fashion as possible. We never went to church, prayed, or added in a lot of the religious elements I see Christians I know doing now. However, we did sing Christmas carols (let's face it, there isn't much good Christmas music out there, and much of what's good is highly Christian), open Advent calendars, and occasionally watch a religious cartoon or two about the season. We had traditions for Christmas.
We never, however, did much for Easter. Once I didn't believe in the Easter Bunny any more (one of the two remaining forms of real magic in the world, my mom told me, the other being Santa Claus), we'd give a few presents and occasionally go out to eat. That was it. Of course, once I became a Christian, I attended church and gathered with other Christians for the day. But now that I'm a Pagan, I really find no reason to celebrate, even in a secular fashion. Don't get me wrong...I like presents, and I have nothing against eggs, bunnies (even the sexually depraved ones), and spring. But I already HAVE a holiday to celebrate Spring coming, Ostara, which already happened back in March. So I wouldn't be doing anything for Easter if my husband hadn't expressed a desire to do something. It's not a holiday in my religion, and I'm not eight years old any more. Anyone else have the same experience? |

Hey, I haven't changed my sexual orientation once, and no one flirts with me anyhow! Maybe if I was willing to say I had homosexual desires, even though I don't, someone would. Lasher doesn't seem to have any trouble, though this poor little hetero female does. |

Darn it...
It goes against everything I believe in to pretend I'm a Christian. Sheesh...doesn't extreme interest in male pianos and organs make up for not being a Christian homosexual partnered with another homosexual? Or is that a "sin" which can't be atoned for?

How old and how attractive are you? I am willing to sacrifice my male batchelor existence for something worthwhile. I assume you have your own private income.

Nah, I already heard the song, "Here Come the Lesbians!" by some feminist singer my mom listened to whose name I should remember but don't. Gay women don't scare me. (And if they do, I have it on CF authority that gay people flirting with straights can be shot on sight, right? ::shakes head: White heterosexual politicians scare me, though....
Oh, I see, Sulphur. No discussion of how attractive you are, all discussion centered on my bank account...I feel so taken advantage of...so dirty... |
