About completely identical brains:
That was just my way of defining determinism. It mightn't be ever practical to prove that our brains are deterministic in that way. Perhaps the copy of the brain could be made in a computer simulation or something.

I think a (theoretical) super intelligent being from the future would be able to work out what kind of processing is going on, if they could simulate someone's entire brain (which involves a super hi-res brain scan) within their short-term memory...
This is different from knowing what that brain is experiencing or feeling though.

So a person could never, ever be brought back to life with all of their previous memories and thoughts?
