disclaimer: I actually own one of the sample plates from FL, says IM4IT, its hanging in my garage in Illinois.

Anyway, its an interesting setup in Florida, any group can apparently make a plate, so the process does not discriminate on its face, practicalities are another matter surely(obscenities, etc), although the price of admission is quite high to keep to total crackpots out of the game.

The price must not be high enough to these groups, as can be when the samples are on display in the tax collectors office...you can't begin to count them all(and I moved away five years ago)

-privatize social security, with a pic of some oldsters on the beach.

-single payer healthcare.

-"we dont care how they do it up north", same beach picture.

-end welfare as we know it.(an actual slogan that would easily fit, pic of a welfare queen, whatever that looks like)

-reform marijuana laws. (proceeds to NORML)

I guess I can see the argument for not doing any of them, including choose life. But then again, I do like my university plates that are on one of our cars here in IL.

So since the ball is already rolling, Florida actually has a somewhat open system, making it fair.

I can't see why NARAL would fail, except lack of interest. I know that if I were pro-choice I wouldn't put it on my car for fear of vandalism from the total loonies.

Oh and some of the colors down there are quite horrid, I remember one that supported the fine arts, I think the slogan was "State of the Arts", the colors were ugly pastels and you could hardly read the numbers.

Actually in Florida the funds would be better served being given to the department of child welfare (haven't been here long enough to know the exact dept. name) since, if you recall, they have misplaced over 1000 children under their care (with one well publicized death).

Also I would have no problem if Choose-Life disbursed the funds to any and all adoption agencies to include religous ones.
But the federal suite claims the disbursed funds are being given to religious organizations for religious activities not child welfare or adoption activities.
