I imagine the extreme NT leanings come from the nature of this BB. It deals with the topics of philosophy and religion, not centered as much on mutual support as with exchanges of (highly theoretical) ideas. Perhaps a Xian-specific BB may give rise to a different type of demographics, but I will guess that if a given Xian board were centered on "philosophical theology" there would also be an NT bias.
Not to say NT personality may not be a cause of inclinations toward freethought. But a BB such as this one must lead to a NT bias by default because of its specific focus. |

Yes philechat, there are a high number of INTP's especially (far over their 1.5% share of the population) because they need to exchange theoretical ideas, and even welcome challenges to them. (Hence we do not well teach anything but college level or above) People will say we don't welcome argument as we tend to scoff at those we consider lesser intellects or less principled in their thinking, but we'll test our mettle with anyone. We don't quit an argument easily. I'm sure the philosophical chat room is quite irresistable to us even when we know we will catch hell.

1) Free thinker
2) INTJ 33/11/56/11 3) Right handed 4) I don't like such tests as they tends to peg you with something which most propably is not how you really are. People will usually pick & choose things they think they're more incline to but in reality doesn't really match up close to their personality. The real catch here is not how you perceive you'll act it's how you'll really act in reality. 5) Think I got ISTP or INTP before. I notice a switching of S, N, P & J when I take the test on different occasions, they usually are on the low side like the above. |

1) Atheist
2) INTP this time. I have taken several variations of this test, and I seem to be borderline E/I, and solidly NTP. 3) Righthanded, though with practice I can get by with the left (I've had my right hand/arm out of commision more than once, and got used to using the left each time, but quickly reverted to right-handedness as soon as I could use it again). 4) In the end, I think its rather pointless. |

I have taken several of these and vaccilate between ENTP and INTP. But I think I am closer to INTP, because I prefer to be by myself and I spend a lot of time thinking. Other people like to peg me as an extrovert because I am comfortable talking to people and seem outgoing, but extroverts don't prefer to be by themselves, from what I understand.
I had suspected for some time that most of the atheists here were of a similar personality type, but I had no idea it was the same as mine! Maybe that is why I come here. |
