Pope wants EU to call itself Christian

Sometimes I hear enough about the Catholic Church to make me think, "Hey, they're coming forward into modernity a little bit; give the old hidebound freaks some kudos." And then something like this crops up, demonstrating yet again how dispiritingly out of touch with reality they truly continue to be ....

Fortunately, I doubt this will happen, because the Pope is Catholic and many of the more economically-stable Western EU nations are predominantly Protestant. I can't see them all getting together and agreeing on something as inane as that.

How about "The Holy European Empire", instead of The European Union? It has an historical ring to it.

LOL, at first I thought you meant Ethical Union. I was like, wtf? That's the whole fuckin point! Just because the EU (Ethical Union) is into ethics and doing good etc, etc, does not make it Xian! Xianity does NOT have a trademark on morality or ethics!!! Boy, was I mad!!!

Then I clicked on the link, realized you meant Europe, and felt like a dunce.
