Raindropple,

Sorry, I was away for the day.

The key words in my original response were choose and prefer. DMB said everything else for me.

In addition to the physical consequences of childbearing at a young age, I believe there is generally a lack of maturity necessary to successfully raise a family. I realize there are exceptions to this but you did ask what I would want for my family.

While I don't think abortion should be routinely used for birth control, I believe it is a valid choice in some cases.

I know a lot of people are comfortable with sperm donation, adoption etc., but I like keeping my chromosomes, and those of my children, at home.

If my daughter was pregnant (assuming I had a daughter) I would personally have to say that I really wouldn't consider myself in a position to counsel my daughter whether to have an abortion or not. If she wished to keep the baby however I would support her to the best of my abilities. As for the marriage, I would rather that she wait till after the birth of the baby to see if she really felt a love for the father of her child. I think many teens "fall in love" with their child's father/mother because a societal standard tells them that they should do so...after all is said and done and the baby is born the honeymoon is over and all that is left is two parents who realize they just made the biggest mistake of their lives and a child caught in the middle.
