I noticed that too. Though, frankly, I have seen real fundies say things like that in full seriousness. How about that Russians who drilling a hole drilled to Hell and could hear Satan's victims? I could not consider the Aramaic speaking Moon to be any more silly.

I agree that this is wrong, since it is superfluous. They can do that very well without our help...

Oh please! It HAS to be a parody! I just read the section on "baraminology" and the "definitions" of baraminology terms and damn near hurt myself laughing--it is a brilliant spoof on the utter meaninglessness of real baraminology.

C'mon--the site is a laff-riot. Do you honestly think there is such a thing as "Baptist demon exorcism" (look under bios: Dr. Troy Franklin)?

And check the kids site and the exhortation to "report any atheists in your neighborhood"! I mean bwahaha!!!

Sure--some of the links are to real sites--but that just makes it better.

(btw: you figure the "Ruby Matrimony thong" is serious Christian merchandise?)

The site makes many serious links to creationist web sites and is trying to sell Christian merchandise, movies, etc. If it is a hoax, it not a parody but an attempt to part the gullible from their money. Thus it clearly not parody in the classic sense.

And if it is a supposed to be parody, it is such a large site with so little that could be considered funny that one wonder what would be the point.

There may well be a hint on the guestbook: go to the "sign guestbook page" and check the drop-down menus. HAR!

Look at their letters page. And I'll bet that if you moused around the site enough, you would find some teeny tiny print or a small link stating it *is* parody. (Though I admit I haven't found it yet!)

Did y'all see this:

Landover Baptist claims to be a church. Moreover, they claim to be the only church in America that understands the Bible! In fact, neither is true. Landover Baptist is a fraud. A joke. Their true purpose is not to spread the Gospel of our Lord, but to trick people - especially those who have not received the Word and Salvation or have been programmed by secular culture to distrust Christianity - into believing that Christianity is evil and rejecting it.

For this blasphemous atrocity, the Landover Baptist website must be removed from our Internet.
Brilliant!

The shop is hilarious. Anybody wants a ruby matrimony thongs?

Heh, and here's an irreducibly complex mousepad:

I'd say this is the most brilliant hoax, if these people didn't spend so much time on such an elaborate scheme, and sounding so sincere all the meanwhile.

(May 4, 2001) Due to a surprise attack on the ILoveJesus.com message boards by thugs from the Atheist organization Infidels who were seeking some sort of vengeance on the behalf of Landover (we suspect that Chris Harper himself may have orchestrated this attack out of desperation at our recent success in getting a promise of a hearing at the WIPO on the validity of the landoverbaptist.org domain name), we have moved our site off of ILoveJesus.com so as to not cause our friends there any more trouble. ILoveJesus.com has had to clean up many hatespeech messages left by the Infidel thugs from its boards but, thank the Lord, they didn't manage to do any permanent harm. We thank ILoveJesus.com for their help and service in hosting our site. The OBJECTIVE: Ministries webpages can now be found at TruePath.com at the address members.truepath.com/objective/
This site news message actually has a link to this site....

That's a freakin' hoot!
