I received an email response from the teacher. He says that "the student accounts of what happened are in parts exaggerated and in parts pure fiction," but that his primary concern at this point is not to split the community or have things get ugly. He seems to have some hopes for a constructive dialogue. If the Christian student who was cited in the original post is sufficiently ashamed, maybe that could happen.

Good to hear, Toto. It just demonstrates that us evil satanic atheists can occasionally act like true Xtians. Or something.
Did the teacher mention whether he'd visit us here at II to keep us uptodate on the situation? |

I've never understood that either.
For some reason, they seem to equate a "level playing field" to be oppressive to them. If they don't get special treatment and favors because of their faith, they are somehow being "oppressed". Never mind those of us who don't want our kids to be indoctrinated into their bizarre cult. Never mind those of us that don't want our tax dollars paying for their warped practices. Never mind those of us who don't to be automatically identified as one of them via a ridiculous, non-representative motto on our money, and by ridiculous, non-representative phrases uttered by our moronic commander-in-chief. For crying out loud, people... at least change it to read "In God some of us trust". |
