Assuming what one starts out to prove...
This is a common tactic among creationists; simply consider the <a href="http://www.creationresearch.org/belief_wndw.htm" target="_blank">oath</a> that the Creation Research Society's members must agree to (I was unable to find a similar oath for the Institute of Creation Research, however).
But an especially annoying version of that tactic was employed by a certain "Josephus" over at <a href="http://www.christianforums.com" target="_blank">http://www.christianforums.com</a> -- at one point, he claimed that the important question was not whether some evidence was consistent with the occurrence of Noah's Flood, but how that evidence fits in with the occurrence of Noah's Flood. |

However, I've discovered a similar <a href="http://www.answersingenesis.org/home/area/about/faith.asp" target="_blank">"Statement of Faith"</a> at Answers in Genesis, and <a href="http://www.icr.org/abouticr/tenets.htm" target="_blank">"Tenets of Scientific Creationism"</a> at the Institute for Creation Research.
