Post NEW TESTAMENT ABSURDITIES

What do christians think about these absurdities in the NT:
1)Men shouldn't wear long hair(according to Paul), yet Jesus(PBUH) was Nazarene with unshorn hair.
2)Women are not to wear perfume, braids, or jewelry or makeup to church
3)Women should cover their heads in prayer but men should leave their head bare. Why the discrimination?
4)Women should SUBMIT to their husbands, speaking in a low voice and only when spoken too.
5)Women are not to be church leaders, family leader, political leaders
5)Jesus(PBUH)was a man of peace but explicitly spoke about hating one's family for not being "christians", and specifically spoke about coming to bring war not peace to the earth.
6)Jesus(PBUH) drank alcohol, ate the flesh of animals, cursed people, was racist(the story of the Samaritan woman where Cananites and other Gentiles are lkikened to dogs.)
7)Jesus(PBUH) was disobedient to his parents
8)Jesus(PBUH) seems to marry Mary Magdalene in one of the gospel stories, and the apochrypah confirms this.
9)Jesus(PBUH)identifies himself with the same words used to identify Lucifer...bright and morning star, day star.
10) the Book of Revelation identifies Jesus(PBUH) as the enemy of ALL mankind(revelation 18-22)

What do the christians think?

peace and blessings

You're making a pretty wild assumption there, did you really mean to put the "What" in that question?

You're asking us this for why?

I mean, I can tell you what I think, but that wouldn't be what an xtian thinks. Should you not be asking this on an xtian board as opposed to an infidel's board?

I had a nice roasted chicken breast sub from subway this evening. What do the christians think?

This Christian thinks you need to go find out the difference between a Nazarite and a Nazarene.

All of these replies are exactly what I expected from christians, based on my personal experiences with them: avoidance of the questions!

My parents are fundy christians and they are experts at avoiding questions that make them uncomfortable or that they can not answer.

When I ask what christians think, I want individual christian opinions, as well as what the christians on a whole think about something that is plainly written in the NT. Do christians follow it, and believe in it totally?

And Helen, when I called Jesus of Nazareth a Nazerene, I think what you were forgetting in your dismissal of my comment is that a person given over to the temple took on many vows, including the NAZARITE vow of unshorn hair and unshaven beard. Why is Jesus depicted with long hair, if Paul clearly disapproves of men with long hair, it is an abomination to him?

In the future answer the questions don't dance around them.Should christians not follow and agree with what is in the NT?

Ok...
I see one xtian reply and a bunch of infidel replies.
You're not mistaking me for an xtian are you?

If you want my opinion, xtians do not see these as absurdities because they have severe cognitive dissonance. I do believe all theists suffer from that to some degree or other. They do not want to see what is plainly absurd so they go through incredible mental gymnastics to justify thier continued belief.

So, there you have it, xtians try not to think about the absurdities you listed, they gloss over them and make up excuses for them. Then they beleive thier excuses and it all becomes right and sensible.

Anyway, why are you asking questions that are directed towards xtians to a bunch of infidels?
If you want to know what goes on in an xtian mind, go ask an xtian.

I agree with you to a certain extent.

My questions were specifically for the christians, but mostly"infidels" answered. The christians that do reply to this and other posts of mine directed at them, don't answer the questions, they avoid them.

Finally, I have no quarrel with atheists, we just will have to agree to disagree. However, christians tend to look for theist support when "battling "infidels", but lambast muslims for things in our religion without realizing that those things are similar to beliefs in theirs. In short I can't stand the hypocrisy so I attack, intellectually.

How did you come to be Muslim?

When I ask what christians think, I want individual christian opinions, as well as what the christians on a whole think about something that is plainly written in the NT. Do christians follow it, and believe in it totally?

Some claim to; others don't.

What does being a Nazarene have to do with anything? Are you just trying to avoid that you seem to have confused Nazarene and Nazarite in your initial post?

In the future answer the questions don't dance around them.

Life is too short to answer people who post to me like this.

If I want to dance, I'll dance.

After studying religion for ten years, including chrrustianuty, I chose Islam.

I really don't think I confused a Nazarite with a Nazarene.e.g. "Men shouldn't wear long hair(according to Paul), yet Jesus(PBUH) was Nazarene with unshorn hair." Jesus(AS) was a Nzarene WITH long hair. If this implies that a Nazarene is defined by long hair I apologize for the confusion.I know the difference. But Paul seems to think that men with long hair are an abomination. This is also obvious proof that he NEVER actually met Jesus(AS).

How do you know Jesus had long hair, though?

I don't think we know that, do we?

If you're relying on those Sunday School pictures of Jesus with fair complexion and blue eyes, well...I wouldn't if I were you
