Default One step closer to making Bender a reality.

Apparently so.

Powered by your liquor cabinet, 'biofuel cell' could replace rechargeable batteries

Researchers have developed a new type of biofuel cell — a battery that runs off of alcohol and enzymes — that could replace the rechargeable batteries in everything from laptops to Palm Pilots. Instead of plugging into a fixed power outlet and waiting, these new batteries can be charged instantly with a few milliliters of alcohol. The new findings were presented today at the 225th national meeting of the American Chemical Society, the world's largest scientific society, in New Orleans.

What a shock! I read the thread title and thought you were talking about Douglas Bender!

I've deleted a few posts here referring to a forum member. To begin with, it brings the OP far off topic.

More importanly, though, it is inappropriate to discuss a forum member as such, especially in an S&S thread.

I've kept DT's message with the link, but I advise those posting in this thread to be mindful of the OP.

If someone wants to start a thread related to forum posting, there are more appropriate places for it.

Duly noted. *Recreates thread in ~Elsewhere~*

BTW, Bender is my favorite Futurama character.

I'm still waiting for oxygen-powered breathing batteries, though. Those would rule!
