I sent it. I thought that I read in the paper yesterday or the day before, or perhaps heard on NPR, that his nomination seems to be dead. But I could be mixing him up with one of the other nutjobs that the scrub has nominated for the courts.

Sadly, Ted Kennedy has endorsed his nomination, all but assuring it will sail through. All Kennedy cares about is that he is not a captive of the industries he will oversee.

I sent the letter, but do fundies do anything anymore but sail through? I used to live in the United States of America. I now have no country. Now conservatives have redifined my old country to mean this new thing, and I no longer can really claim citizenship in it. Now, they determine everything that's real: so, because I don't believe in their God, I hate America. Since they're in charge, that's what's true and I can't argue. Any nominee wh hates me, who hates us, will get the job. I should send them my name and address and personal history so they know exactly who to hate. <img src="graemlins/banghead.gif" border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" />

That sucks. I have usually been able to count on Kennedy not to vote for people like this guy.

That's one of the things that's put me in a snit. The moderates in our political system are rolling-over-playing-dead; they know who's won.

Don't go overboard. Try living in a dictatorship, or even a theocratic "democracy" like Israel before you overdo it. At least we can voice opposition here, and vote the bastids out.
We can change things. This is not the first time our democracy has been threatened from within--ever hear of McCarthy? Ever hear of John Adams? The world doesn't come to an end, we just have to be vigilant and stand up for our beliefs--not just by preaching to the choir on this board, but by letting our elected officials know that we are atheists and we vote!

Oh, and anyhone who doesn't bother to vote, stop complaining.

Thumbs up

Done. Also did some others like, "Oppose posting of 10C in public places," etc. Actually did about 3 or 4 total. Every once in a while you get something back from one of your elected officials as well. It's nice when it's not a form letter. I'm going to keep on checking out AU for other opportunities such as this, and lets all post any replies we get from respective politicians!
