This is a sampling of clerical sexual abuse crimes. It is in no way a complete list. Readers of news clippings to the Freedom From Religion Foundation supply it. To illustrate that this is not a Catholic phenomenon, 40% of such crimes are committed by priests, the rest by protestant, mostly fundamentalist clergy, the latter identified in CAPS.

William E. Daniels, Spring City, TN, USA: 52 year old BAPTIST DEACON raped 11 year old girl twice and a 17 year old girl three times.

Dwight York, Putnam County, GA, USA: 74 counts of child molestation, 29 counts of aggravated child molestation, and related charges. Founder of UNITED NUWAUBIAN NATION OF MOORS RELIGIOUS SECT.

Father Pangratios Vrionis, GREEK ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN, Queens, NY, USA: 3rd degree sexual abuse and attempted sexual abuse, with previous convictions of 2 counts of sodomy and 2 counts of corrupting the morals of a minor.

Father Steven Girard, Baltimore, MD, USA: filed a false carjacking claim to cover up his night with a male prostitute.

RABBI Fred J. Neulander, Campden, NJ, USA: Had affair with another woman than his wife, then conspired to murder his wife.

Father David A. Czajkowski, Baltimore, MD, USA: 3 counts of child abuse, 3rd and 4th degree sex offences, and 2nd degree assault. He molested 3 girls ages 10, 12, and 14 in several separate incidences.

Matthew D.Slinkard, nursery volunteer, ASBURY METHODIST CHURCH, owned by the TULSA BIBLE CHURCH, Tulsa, OK, USA: convicted of molesting a 3 year old girl. Sentenced to 5 years.

George T. Kelly, Sunday School Teacher and lay church instructor at CHRIST THE KING CHURCH in Lombard, IL, USA: Convicted of possessing child pornography, trading and videos of child porn. $10,000 fine and required to undergo counselling.

Rev. Randall VanLandingham Jr., SALVATION ARMY Pastor, Owosso, MI, USA: received 15-40 years on 1 count of criminal sexual conduct, and 10-15 years for 2nd degree sexual to be served concurrently. He still faces 8 counts of criminal sexual conduct involving 5 other girls under age 12.

Rev. Kenneth K. Behrel, EPISCOPAL PRIEST AT ST.ANDREWS EPISCOPAL CHURCH, Grayslake, IL, USA: convicted of molesting two students while chaplain at St. James School, and raping one victim immobilised in a body cast. Sentenced to two consecutive 12-year prison sentences.

There are a few hundred removed, fired, or resigned priests and ministers whose list it too long to post now, maybe later. Thanks to the clippings sent by readers from newspapers all over the US, Canada, and Britain to the Freedom From Religion Foundation and published in Freethought Today. I also wished to show that Catholics are not alone in this, those CAPITALISED above represent Non-Catholic Clerical Perverts.

The problem isn�t confined to the Catholic Church. Seems to me the Catholic Church suffers from the same cultural maladies as the greater society. If the offending priests had followed Church Doctrine instead of �wink and nod� so prevalent in cultural norms they wouldn�t be sexual preditors. This is the tip of the iceberg.

There is an inherent conflict between the vested interests of institutions (w/ deep pockets) v children abused by staff. For example the automotive industry doesn�t collect safety information for fear the database could be brought up in a law suit. Any institution granted loco parentis authority over kids looks to cover their ass (leaving children exposed), especially government run institutions like public schools, family services, hospitals, juvenile courts, and private schools.
