letter to editor
A week or so ago I posted on one of these forums a letter that I had written to the opinions section of our local paper. I didn't really expect them to print it since it was over their 250 word limit by 100 words and expressed some pretty strong opinions. To my surprise it was printed in this mornings paper with no editorial changes. Any one interested or curious can find it easily enough I'm sure. This one may catch me some flak from good Christians of this village.

Just out of sheer laziness and my lack of familiarity with these forums as yet, what did this letter say? Do you have a link to the thread you posted it under?

Thanks... I'd like to read it. I was considering penning a letter of my own to my local paper, and I'd like to see an example of one. |

Aha.... good one!
I particularly like the Billy Graham comments. It's not as scathing as I was expecting, however. Does your local paper really edit the heck out of secular-leaning letters, or are they just generally only interested in the truly non-confrontational ones? My local paper won't publish editorial letters that are even remotely "edgy" or "controversial". Only humdrum, un-thought-out opinions need apply, apparently. |

Actuall, they do very little editing. I have been posting Atheist letters for 10 years now and all but one have been printed. Most have been printed as is. While I have never had a very high opinion of the editorship of our paper, from what I read on the web they are very liberal in comparison to other papers. That letter definitely would not have been printed in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. If you write a letter, let me know. I'm interested. The Admiral |

The new search features are nice...but it would have been easier to find if Admiral didn't post so much. |

Openeyes: Thanks, I will do so, publicity hog that I am.
Beejay: Hey, what do you expect an old retired fart to do to keep busy? The Admiral |
