Hezekiah,

What do you think the chances are that WD is going to actually come back and discuss? After 120+ posts, he hasn't been seen.

I especially liked your first question to him, direct and to the point. Basically asking him if he is or isn't a creationist. As the quotes earlier in this thread show, there is no doubt as to his presuppositions.

The conference list did look really cool, though. I'd have loved to hear some of those talks by the likes of De Duve.

I hate arn, because I dislike all those blokes who just keep pounding out the same drool about SLOT over and over again. sometimes I lose faith in people...
You are really out of the loop on this one. Observe:

1)For about a year or so the laws of Thermodynamics were rarely if ever even mentioned.

2)A certain Jeptha joined ARN in late December.
His big preoccupation was the LoTs as they apply
to origins.

3)A surprisingly large number of Jeptha-opponents
joined ARN in January/February to debate him.(They
had followed him from other websites)

4)The Jepthodynamics threads really did dominate
for much of Jan and Feb but petered out in March
before the shutdown of March 15th.

5)Since March 15th Jeptha hasn't posted, the anti-
Jeptha people stopped posting mostly and things
are back to the way they were in December.

You'll have to find OTHER reasons to dislike ARN.

Cheers!

And what in Barbara Forrest's letter is not true? Nothing - it's all factual. 120+ responses to his post and not one challenge to anything she wrote. However plenty of extremely articulate and incisive criticism of the ID "movement."

I wonder if Dembski is sorry he started that thread. It's making him look awfully petty. For a man supposedly working overtime to extract himself from the political wing of ID, referring to an entirely factual document as "the worst sort of leftist guilt-by-association diatribe" is not exactly furthering his cause.
It must be tough trying to publically dissociate oneself from the DI's stated aims while at the same time otherwise supporting those aims and continuing to feed at the DI'S trough.

Its becoming glaringly obvious to me that Dembski will only disavow the Wedge strategy when asked in public. At least Phil Johnson is honest about it.

Cheers,

KC

Question

Are leftist guilt-by-association and rightist guilt-by-association two different fallacies? I mean, I want to make sure I use the correct terminology for all those "Stalin believed in evolution" arguments...

Wrong, mturner is picking up where Jeptha left off.

"Go mturner Go! Who do we love? A.. R.. N.. !"

Pathetic, despite leonard(e)'s cheerleading efforts. You can always count on having a set list of reasons not to believe ARN forums will have any semblance of scientific discourse... not the list of which is the fellowship mentality that focuses on pleasantries rather than technical accuracy.
