The home of Big Mother OED, frcrisesake? : "sapient" is another version of our species name >>>> *Homo sapiens*; and I guess I used it here , sardonically (>>> and you can look that up, also), mildly to sneer @ us. ..... The signpost someone has given you , dictionary.com, indicates that when you are on-line, you can type-in *dictionary.com * up there at the address line; then hit "Search" and that shd give you on-line sites to look-up definitions at. It depends on the class of the catpured: a nobleman captured in honorable combat is to be treated as a welcome guest in the capturing nobleman's dwelling until ransom can be met, it is generally customary to place the head of a captured peasant on a pike
