God is a racist
Althought it has been known sometimes that Jews are the chosen one of God, there was something that I find disturbing. Why do God choose Jews as the chosen ones? He seems to demostrate favouritism and racism towards His own creations. All of the known prophets in the bible were Jews and other prophets of other races such as Mohammad were disregarded as false or heretic. If God is really so just and fair, then why didn't He send his messages to every races in the world and in doing so, the world will be short of several conflicts and confusions. But too bad, the actual fact is that only Jews received their messages first, just because they are more 'worthy'.
So, from all this, it could be easily seen that the God(the one that mentioned in the bible) is more of the particular god of a culture and a race in the beginnning than the true God of all mankind. That is to say the Jews never intend to share their religion or 'God' with other races in the first place even up to today. |

Err, which god? Whose god? What god?
I can think of many examples of racist god-myths. Is there a reason you chose the Babylonian War god in particular? |

Marduk was written about before the Jewish God. Marduk found favor and preference with the people of Sumer. So maybe the Jews felt they needed a God that put them first.
I think the Gentile should find a different God that puts the Gentile first and have as his/her favored people. The people of Sumer get an "A" for originality and stupidity. The early Jews get a "D" for plagiarism and trademark infringements i.e. the Torah and idea of God. The early Gentiles get an "F" for theft of a God from the Jew. Modern Man gets an "0" for allowing the crime and deceit to continue. |

Humans are racists. Humans created religion rather divinely inspired or otherwise. So this whole argument is kind of ...
Just my two cents |

Agreed Blu,
But here is an argument on the same platform: All Theists feel they belong to a chosen group. No atheist feel they belong to a chosen group. Anyone in a chosen group feel they have more or special rights over those that aren't in the group. This leads to separation, conflict, and pain between the two. All religions believe they are a special group. All religion leads to separation, conflict, and pain. Sign me up! [ February 24, 2002: Message edited by: critical thinking made ez ]</p> |

from ctme:
All Theists feel they belong to a chosen group. All theist? This is clearly inaccurate. No atheist feel they belong to a chosen group. Shucks. We are so humble! Anyone in a chosen group feel they have more or special rights over those that aren't in the group. You're stretching (or projecting). This leads to separation, conflict, and pain between the two. Not to mention some rather defective pop psychology. All religions believe they are a special group. I'll bet there's a zinger coming. All religion leads to separation, conflict, and pain. Unfortunately, the conclusion cannot expect to rise above its argumentation. Hopefully, our atheism stands on firmer ground. |

Dear Answerer,
God cannot be condemned as racist for choosing the Jews as His Chosen People, for the Jews did not exist prior to God's having chosen them. His choice and their creation are one in the same act. So if you are going to complain that God was racist for having created the race of Jews, you must also complain that God was racist for creating all the other races too. All God chose was a single man, Abraham, with whom to make a covenant. Even this choice was not an act of favoritism, for that man had to prove himself to God by offering up his only son to God before God would keep his part of the deal by blessing Abraham with descendents as numerous as grains of sand, i.e., by creating the Jewish race. Your sour grapes attitude carried to its logical conclusion would have Jews complaining about your race existing. For they could argue, as you argue, that God shows favoritism for having created races of people as numerous as grains of sand whose pedigree involved NO act of faith. Through the sacrifice of Abraham, the Jewish race earned its creation whereas the race you belong to came into existence gratuitously. Shame on you. – Albert the Traditional Catholic |
