Brightening up
Bear in mind that one man with a minigun is no match for 1000 people with pistols.
If he's behind even one skin of bricks, or at a distance of even two hundred metres, it really is no contest. Bloodfest. |

Calling yourself a 'bright' really just smacks of narcissm ala Totalarianist and his messageboard, no matter what new meaning you try and attach to the word.
It's no more unreasonable than calling yourself 'saved' or many other popular terms that the Gullibles like to appropriate. Like I said, it's a weapon. Smacking of narcissism to you is the leading edge of smacking of downright slander to a Gullible, which, from this Bright, is exactly the point. Your reaction is a very good sign. If the Gullibles can say that they are saved, implying that I am lost, then I can equally say that I am a Bright, implying that they are all Dulls. Game on! |

You compared the "Bright" meme to a minigun. Care to tell me what a brick wall and a range advantage represent in your analogy? |

I would hope that the reason I adopted an atheist viewpoint was because I had aspirations above being "no more unreasonable" than the people who believe that they ingest the reincarnated flesh of Superman every Sunday morning, or that God spends his infinite days patting them personally on the head and devising new ways to torture gays. Personally, I'm not playing a game; I'm simply living the way I have to, based on what I see and feel. Adopting a silly name that can stand as a shorthand for all the various things in which I believe, like "Chosen" or "Saved" or "Faeborn" or "Witch" or "Bright" is a deeply unappealing concept. |

No one is forcing me to call myself a bright.
Is somebody, or some organization, forcing any of you to call yourself a bright? If not, what's the problem? Jeff |

The problem is, the ones that are are making us look silly!

Calling oneself a "Bright" -- to me, that is so stupid that I have been reluctant to comment on it.
