Questions about life before the Fall
According to the story, everything on earth was perfect before Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, bringing death, misery, pain, and sadness into the world. Am I right so far?
The questions I have are as follows: 1. Did extreme temperatures (e.g. ice cold water, the sun's heat) affect Adam, Eve or the other creatures before the Fall? 2. Was it possible for Adam, Eve, or the other land dwelling creatures to drown before the Fall? If not, does this mean that they could breathe under water? 3. Was it possible for fish and other sea creatures to survive on land before the Fall? 4. We shed millions of dead cells all the time, especially when we scratch our skin. Did Adam, Eve, and the other creatures shed dead cells before the Fall? 5. If the Fall never really happened, then why do we need Jesus? Please note: I don't actually believe the creation myth, I'm just trying to illustrate how absurd it is. Hopefully this post will get some creationists to think. "Hopefully this post will get some creationists to think."
You used the words 'creationist' and 'think' in the same sentence! |

Not being a Christian, I don't believe the following, but:
Many of the early church fathers believed that Satan had already made most of the world nasty, but Adam and Eve didn't live in most of the world. They lived in the Garden of Eden. But naturally when they sinned, they were expelled into a world where there is natural evil. I think it's an interesting idea, not least because it makes you wonder what would have happened if not for the Fall. Before long, there would be too many humans to fit in the Garden of Eden. Would God miraculously make new territories safe, or would humans somehow have to do some of the work themselves? I'd like that situation--it would be like being a pioneer. Or he 'scared them off' by posting on a Secular site. Post that on a Christian site, THEN you'll get responses.
