Candidate against Non-Xian Prayer Drops Out
This is a rather bizarre story and another case of a anti-seperation zealot who can't practice the religion he wants to impose on others.
Some guy became a candidate for a school board in order to stop a proposal that instead of opening meetings with a Christain prayer that the opening prayer be rotated between prayers of various religions. He called himself the "good guy." It turns that in the paperwork for becoming a candidate he left out that he had an arrest record: shoplifting, driving with a suspended licence, and a bizarre case of public.... I am not sure that I should actually mention it here. His excuse was that he did not think anyone would find out. He has withdrawn from the race. http://www.sptimes.com/2002/08/17/Citrus/_Embarrassed__candida.shtml |

There's a thread on this in the political forum.
You've got things a little mixed up. The dude referred to himself as the "God Guy" -- he was the one opposing allowing non-Xtian prayers. His name is Bates. Just read hezekiah jones' post to see how easily this adds to the humor. theyeti |

LOL. That was so funny, at first I thought it was like one of those stories on The Onion or something.
