I worked with a "christian scientist" once. He would never admit to being ill, because they don't, but we all used to be amused that whenever he started having sniffles he would eat oranges all day.

Please take notice of the "Answers in Creation" link at the top of this site.
FWIW, I just tried the term "big bang" and got 3 creationist ads for my trouble...

Also got two creationist ads when I tried "mutation".

(Note: The ads rotate, so you won't necessarily see them every time)

Main Entry: Christian Science
Function: noun
Date: circa 1867
: a religion founded by Mary Baker Eddy in 1866 that was organized under the official name of the Church of Christ, Scientist, that derives its teachings from the Scriptures as understood by its adherents, and that includes a practice of spiritual healing based on the teaching that cause and effect are mental and that sin, sickness, and death will be destroyed by a full understanding of the divine principle of Jesus's teaching and healing

Christian Scientists are not fundies or that conservative from what I understand. In fact, their ideas of spiritual healing are probably what we'd think of as "Christian, new-age."
*cough*CULT!*cough*

I remember hearing about them when I was younger as that's what our next-door neighbors and their granddaughter (a good friend of my sister's) were. I remember even as a child thinking it was silly. "When you're sick, you go to the doctor and you get medicine to make you feel better. Why do anything else?" I thought.

I attended her first wedding, and I remember it being at a local college chapel. I'm not sure if she's still into that or not. I'll have to check with my sis (if she even knows).
