"Gibsonizing" the "Crusifiction"
After suffering through Braveheart, with the bridge-less battle of Striling Bridge, this next epic should be a blast..
http://www.sassiweb.it/thepassion/ "all the actors speak Aramaic or Latin, and there won't be subtitles." Wot? No Greek? "The first scene shot (it doesn't mean surely it will be the first in the movie) is the hanging of Judas. " Thank you! That clears that one up then! Some of the comments in the Guestbook are lovely, and as both "The Patriot" and "Braveheart" gave rise to some nice objective debunking of popular history, I hope that this might cause a light to go on and enlighten some of the superstitious. |

Vorkosigan started a thread in CSSSA on Gibson's film and its historical problems.
Gibson Film and Censorship I was thinking of moving it to this forum, since it hasn't gotten much response there. The web site you linked to is selling "The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ From the Visions of Anne Catherine Emmerich", the anti-Semitic work that is criticized for historical inaccuracy and rabid anti-Semitism. |

There's an article in last week's Houston Press about Mel Gibson's father (who lives in Houston now).

Personally, I loved both "The Patriot" and "Braveheart". I could care less whether they were historically accurate or completely made up stories.
I, of course, do not think "The Passion" will be historically accurate other than perhaps the setting, but it could still turn out to be an excellent movie. |

When Hutton Gibson Talks People Listen

Did you know that the Raelians are now trying to clone Mel Gibson's father?
