Default The things we do for god

Not me, I don't do anything for any god.
I find these things ridiculous. It's all the prostrating, fawning, singing and stuff. The comedian Rich Hall said on a programme that praying was just a form of begging.
The sacrifices of people and animals, to no effect.
The living by certain rules, don't do this on such and such a day. You must do that on that day. For god.
Fasting is a joke; make yourself unhealthy for god. You go all day without eating or drinking, that's not good, then stuff your face at night.People actually put weight on during Ramadan because thay bulk up on sweets at night. Giving up things for lent, what's the point?
Any other 'pointless' activities.
And in the end the gods do nothing for those people(I guess not existing doesn't help).

LOL... yeah that whole nonexistence thing can be problematic

This has always confounded me as well. While I wasn't raised Catholic I had/have several friends who were/are, and I always asked them what the deal was with all the little rituals... I mean come ON, the all-powerful all-knowing creator of the universe somehow *deeply cared* that you only ate fish on Fridays (Friday being a "day of the week" arbitrarily designated by a man-made calendar system anyway?!?!?! From whence comes the mystical significance??? )

[clop clop clop]

[boom boom]

[angels sing]

GOD: Arthur! Arthur, King of the Britons! Oh, don't grovel!

[singing stops]

One thing I can't stand, it's people groveling.

ARTHUR: Sorry.

[boom]

GOD: And don't apologize. Every time I try to talk to someone it's 'sorry

this' and 'forgive me that' and 'I'm not worthy'.

[boom]

What are you doing now?!

ARTHUR: I'm averting my eyes, O Lord.

GOD: Well, don't. It's like those miserable Psalms-- they're so depressing.

Now knock it off!

ARTHUR: Yes, Lord.

How about racking up over 1500 posts in a matter of months during a tireless campaign to attack an atheist website?

Not to mention constantly brandishing the names of authors who DON`T EVEN AGREE WITH YOU.

Yeah. People do some crazy and pointless stuff for God.
