Cal., San Diego, appears to me to be very significant in showing how a particular Hox gene could have led to the evolution of the body plans of various phyla. The article specifically calls out creationist arguments against the "non-observation" of macroevolution.
One of you biologists with online access to Nature needs to read the article and give us all (another, simple) summary.

Check out <a href="http://www.arn.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/001748.html" target="_blank">this thread</a> at ARN. It appears that Wells was quoted in a piece for the Discovery Institute criticizing this. Unfortunately for him, he got even the basic facts wrong -- it appears that he didn't even read the paper.
