Some interesting notes here, which state Jesus might in fact be "Day Star". Day Star, or Lucifer, was, in addition to being a nickname for a Babylonian King, also an ancient Caananite deity. In later theology he and another Canaanite god, Baal(Beezebub) somehow ended up being identified with Satan.
